Hello! I’m so glad you’re here today. I want to share how the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) can be a valuable part of your healing journey at Marzena Diard Therapy.
When you first arrive here, you may be facing various challenges—anxiety, depression, anger management, ADHD or stress from work. You might also be dealing with physical symptoms like fibromyalgia, endometriosis, pelvic pain, migraines, or chronic back pain. These can feel overwhelming, especially without clear structural causes or definitive cures.
Based on my own lived experience in both suffering and healing, I’m a big believer in our healing abilities as human beings, especially in a safe and supportive environment. The SSP may be utilized as a standalone intervention or integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan, facilitating non-invasive internal healing by addressing both clinical symptoms and the underlying emotional and physiological drivers of these conditions.
The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, is a gentle listening / music therapy that utilizes specially filtered music to engage your nervous system. Its primary goal is to promote feelings of safety and connection, which are essential for emotional healing and overall well-being.
Work Stress:
In our fast-paced world, work-related stress can take a toll on both your mental and physical health. The SSP can help regulate your nervous system, making it easier to cope with daily stressors and build resilience.
Depression & Anxiety:
The SSP has shown promising results, with about 85% of participants experiencing reduced anxiety symptoms. It creates a soothing environment that allows you to process your emotions more effectively, often leading to noticeable improvements in mood.
Anger management:
The SSP can enhance your sense of safety within your nervous system, creating a supportive space for you to explore the underlying emotions and beliefs connected to your anger triggers. By fostering this feeling of safety, SSP helps you approach these deeper feelings with greater ease and understanding, ultimately leading to healthier emotional responses and improved relationships.
ADHD:
If you’re struggling with attention and focus, the auditory stimulation from the SSP can enhance concentration and make tasks feel more manageable. Many clients report improvements in their attention spans, allowing them to engage more fully with their responsibilities.
Autism:
SSP can really support you as a neurodivergent individual with autism by helping you bounce back more quickly from social or sensory experiences, making everyday life feel a bit easier. You might discover that once-overwhelming places, like those with fluorescent lighting, become more manageable, and you may find it easier to sleep after busy days. This newfound stability can empower you to create effective strategies and pacing methods that fit your unique needs. Remember, SSP is here to help you navigate environments that aren’t always designed with your nervous system in mind, not to change who you are.
Chronic Illnesses: Endometriosis Pain & Fibromyalgia, Migraine, Back Pain:
Many clients have shared that the SSP helps them feel calmer and less reactive to triggering situations. They find themselves better able to tolerate uncomfortable feelings and observe their thoughts and sensations, allowing them to pass by without attachment. These experiences foster a sense of safety by lowering hypersensitivity to stressors. The brain learns to decrease the intensity of the danger response, reducing the transmission of pain signals in these areas as a protective mechanism.
I’m thrilled to explore how the SSP can support your healing journey! Together, we’ll create a safe space for you to navigate these challenges and feel more balanced. If you’re interested, let’s schedule a 15 min free consultation call to see if this is a fit for you
